Sarah Pressman Lovinger, MD, is an internal medicine doctor who has cared for low-income, primarily uninsured adults in community health centers in Chicago and Boston for a dozen years. She is also a freelance writer, and covers green businesses and events for afreshsqueeze.com and blogs such as planetsave.com. A fierce defender of the planet’s health, she is working on a project to help low-income residents of Chicago and the surrounding communities grow more of their own food in their yards and in community gardens. Since January, 2009, she has also been serving as Executive Director of the Chicago chapter of Physicians for Social Responsiblity.
